My weekly football training structure
Team training Monday through Wednesday. Solo work every day. Each day has a focus — nothing is random.
The biggest mistake I see players make is training randomly. They show up, do whatever feels right, and wonder why they are not improving. Structure is what turns effort into results.
I write out my week in a training journal every Sunday. That way there are no decisions to make once the week starts — only the work.
§Team sessions
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday I am with the team from 8:15 to 9:45 PM. That is the non-negotiable block of the week.
Team training is where you test your decisions under pressure. Everything else — solo work, recovery, film — exists to make those 90 minutes better.
§Daily baseline
Every single day, no matter what, I do push-ups, a plank, recovery work, VR/visual training, and juggling. That is the floor — it happens regardless of what else is on the schedule.
The baseline keeps me available. Missing it is how small gaps turn into injuries or bad habits.
§Solo focus by day
Monday — Wall passes and scanning.
Tuesday — Wall juggling. In the air, one touch, two touch.
Wednesday — Ball mastery. Roulettes, close control, variation.
Thursday — Fitness and agility.
Friday — Finishing and sprinting.
Saturday and Sunday — Game days.
§Using session cards when I train alone
When I train alone I use the Session Cards to remove guesswork. Each card gives me a clear focus — technical, physical, defensive, mental, or a challenge. I pick the card that matches the day and get to work.
The point of writing it out is accountability. The week is mapped. There are no decisions to make in the moment — just the work.
